Children's Health Hospital Dallas 2023
This hospital visit was full of room visits, TV Studio broadcasts and great interacting with children in the Butterfly Atrium. The children were also fortunate enough to be given a children's book "Which came First" autographed by the author, Janet Sever Hull. Pilots For Kids had a group of volunteers entertaining the children with arts and crafts. We made our way onto the Children's TV network. PFK promoted the visit and requested patients come down to the event if they were able. The visit was filled with happy kids getting great toys and having fun making a craft. I want to thank the child life coordinator, Andrea, and all her amazing staff members for making this visit special.
Children's Health Hospital Plano 2023
This year was a little different at Children's Health Plano Hospital. Due to a massive expansion at the hospital, the atrium was not available to distribute toys, but we still made it to the room visits. We visited over 85 rooms with eight pilot volunteers. As we moved through the rooms the kids were full of excitement and appreciative of all the great toys we gifted them. We even made it to the pre-op surgery area and helped calm some children down with a sweet pillow pet before they went into surgery. It was a wonderful day!
Cooks Children's Hospital Fort Worth 2023
It had been 3 years since DFW Pilots for Kids visited Cooks Children's Hospital. We were amazed at how much the hospital had grown. PFK had over 17 pilot volunteers and we needed more. This visit is a room to room visit and it is very personable. We gave gift cards to the parents in the NICU. We also distributed amazing toys to over 270 children throughout our visit. Some pilots were teamed up with a service dog dressed up with antlers to help bring some joy to the children. We went to over 13 areas in the hospital. I want to thank the staff and pilot volunteers for making this visit great.
Scottish Rite Hospital Visit 2023
DFW Pilots for kids had an amazing visit at Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas. We greeted and interacted with over 85 patients gifting them with a toy, gift card, arts and craft, pillow pet and a balloon. The joy and cheer that was brought by all the pilot volunteers was amazing. The children were also fortunate enough to be given a children's book "Which came First" autographed by the author, Janet Sever Hull. This event was unforgettable.
PFK HOSPITAL VISIT PICTURES December 2022
This year was an amazing time to be back in the hospitals. In total, DFW Pilots for Kids visited three children's hospitals in December. We started the season off early in December with a visit to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital where we saw over 135 outpatient kids. We gifted them with great toys, balloons, and stuffed animals. Along with the great gifts we had some amazing interactions with the kids. The smiles and laughter were shinning all morning as we interacted with them. Second visit was to Children's Health Hospital Plano. This was another great visit that started out with a boom. DFW had some severe weather that took place at the start of the event. A tornado touched down just a mile from the hospital sending all the patients into the halls with the sirens going off. Despite the crazy start, Pilots for Kids saw even more children. We gifted over 160 children with our great selection of toys. We also had 10 pilots make their way around the hospital with room visits. We finished up our hospital visits with Children's Health Hospital Dallas. We had an empty helium tank to start, but the quick thinking and driving of Cheryl Brown allowed us to have an abundant supply of airplane balloons for all the kids to enjoy. Several pilots made their way around to hospital rooms. We also made it to the NICU where we gifted the parents with a balloon and a restaurant gift card so they could leave the hospital and enjoy a nice meal. This hospital has their own TV network and our pilots made an appearance in the Ryan Seacrest studio inviting the children down to the event. As we interacted with the children we also had several arts and crafts activities to have fun with the children I want to thank the hospital staff and all the nurses for allowing us to return to the hospitals. It was great to see all the smiling faces (no masks) and joy that we were able to bring to the children this Christmas. Enjoy the pictures and thank you for all that participated and support DFW Pilots For Kids. If you are wondering how you can help, please participate in our golf tournament May 15th at Lantana Golf Club. This website has all the information on how to get signed up.
