DFW PFK Dec 13th 2024 Cook Children's Health Visit
DFW Pilots for Kids did not let the superstitious Friday the 13th stop them at Cooks Children's Health in Fort Worth. With only 13 pilot volunteers we were able to make it happen and visited over 320 children. This hospital is room visits only and it is a special intimate encounter as the children welcome us into their hospital room. We visited over 12 different floors gifting kids with the great toys, balloons, pillow pets, remote control drones and helicopters. The children were ecstatic to receive all the great toys along with the visit. This day was full of happiness and joy.
DFW PFK Dec 16th 2024 Children's Health Dallas Visit
DFW Pilots for Kids had another amazing visit to Children's Health in Dallas. We met in the butterfly atrium. Five pilots started off the morning with a video interview in the Seacrest studio where the kids could view us and call in to ask any questions. We were able to broadcast to all the rooms to promote the event. We gifted amazing toys, balloons, makeup kits, pillow pets and countless other great gifts. There were several room visits along with a trip to the NICU. The day was filled with joy as so many kids received a gift and interacted with our 21 pilot volunteers.
DFW PFK Dec 10th 2024 Scottish Rite Hospital
Scottish Rite hospital was our second visit and it was filled with mostly outpatient children and a few room visits. This visit we set up our display of toys in the atrium where the children go before their appointments. The pilot volunteers engaged the children and help them pick out a toy, balloon and a pillow pet. They then continued to interact with them. This visit was very good with over 200 kids that we visited with. There was one child who had more energy than a nuclear power plant and he was so excited about his remote control drone, amazing balloons, and pillow pet. We attached as many balloons to his wheelchair to see if he could lift off the ground. Once we attached over 15 helicopter and airplane balloons to his wheelchair he was adamant to fly up and down the hospital hallways, pulling wheelies, and showing off to everybody that he had the coolest wheelchair. He was such a happy boy and full of so much joy. The attending pilot volunteers were gifted by the hospital with the delicious buttered popcorn for their attendance. It was an amazing day full of so many smiles, laughter, and happy children.
Dec 3rd 2024 DFW Pilots For Kids Children's Health Plano Visit
On December 3rd we kicked off our first children's hospital visit. This hospital was transitioning into their larger brand new facility so we did all room visits this year. It was a huge success as we had over 15 pilot volunteers. As we went from room to room we gifted the children with all sorts of cool toys and balloons. This day was full of joy and happiness. Thank you for all that volunteered, we truly brought so much joy to these children.
